Frequently asked questions
Do I need an XCut AI account?
Not for the free tools: hooks, playbooks and the quick tools work straight away. Tools that use your canvases, brand memory, imports or credits ask you to sign in to XCut AI the first time; you approve the connection on an XCut AI page and can disconnect any time in Settings → Connected apps.
How much does it cost?
The connector uses your normal XCut AI credits at the same rates as the app: no extra fees for using it from ChatGPT or Claude. Free tools cost nothing. Paid tools tell you their cost and stop with a clear message if you run out.
What can the app see?
Only what the tools you use need: your canvases, brand memory, calendar and credit balance, for the account you connect. XCut AI never reads your ChatGPT or Claude chat history. You can see every request the connector made in Settings → Connected apps.
Will it post anything for me?
No. The connector can add drafts to your calendar and notes to your canvases; it does not publish to social media.
Which apps does XCut AI work with?
Any app that supports remote MCP servers over HTTP: ChatGPT (as a plugin, which also works in Dots), Claude, Grok, Meta Muse, Gemini, Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, VS Code, Perplexity, Mistral Le Chat and Microsoft Copilot Studio. The server URL is https://mcp.xcut.ai/mcp; in Claude and Claude Code use https://mcp.xcut.ai/claude/mcp. Apps that can’t sign in with OAuth can use a personal API key from XCut AI Settings → Connected apps.
Does XCut AI work with Grok?
Yes. In Grok, go to grok.com/connectors, choose New Connector → Custom and paste https://mcp.xcut.ai/mcp. It works on Grok web, iOS and Android, and developers can add it to the xAI Grok API as a remote MCP tool.
Does XCut AI work with Meta Muse?
Yes. Create an API key in XCut AI Settings → Connected apps, then ask Muse to create a custom connector for https://mcp.xcut.ai/mcp using that key. Muse keeps the key in its Secure Credentials Store.
Does XCut AI work with Gemini?
Yes, in the Gemini app on the web: Settings → Connected Apps → Add a custom app, then paste https://mcp.xcut.ai/mcp. Google currently offers custom apps in the US, in English, on personal accounts.
Is XCut AI affiliated with Instagram, TikTok, YouTube or Meta?
No. XCut AI is an independent product. It imports publicly available posts, profiles and ads using official platform APIs and licensed data providers.
Where does the data come from?
XCut AI imports publicly available posts, profiles and ads, using official platform APIs and licensed data providers, and analyses them for you.
